EXTRA PHOTOS NOW AVAILABLE.          Starlight was built in 1998 by Maurice Hirst and has spent the past weeks having the first stage of a complete refit carried out. The exterior shell has been repainted from bare steel, with 2-pack epoxy etching primer, 1 coat of hi-build 2-pack epoxy primer and 1 coat of marine undercoat/gloss mix in light grey. The hull has been reblacked recently.  The interior has been partially refitted – fully relined with central shower room (yet to be equipped) and galley (also to be equipped), forward lounge with newly installed solid fuel stove (professionally fitted in tiled hearth), and aft bedroom with across double berth.  The Beta Marine B-25KC/TMC-40 gearbox, supplied new in 2010, recently fully serviced and reinstalled in fully repainted engine space.   Plenty of new equipment – calorifier, batteries, water pump, solar panels and regulator.   With very little work this could be a good looking, ‘all-but-new’ narrowboat at a very attractive price. The owner has accepted that due to health issues he has taken the refit as far as he can and now wants to hand it over to a new enthusiast who can complete the project.
